Acquisition of ENIRA
Technologies to Offer Customers the
Industry’s Only Comprehensive
Enterprise Threat Solution from
Detection to Remediation
WASHINGTON D.C. – May 23, 2006 –
ArcSight, Inc., a global leader in
Enterprise Security Management (ESM)
software, today announced it has
agreed to acquire ENIRA Technologies,
a privately-held provider of solutions
for responding to network security
compromises. The acquisition will
combine ArcSight’s ESM solution with
leading-edge remediation capabilities
to provide customers with the
enterprise security management
industry’s only comprehensive solution
from threat detection to remediation.
The announcement was made today at the
ArcSight 2006 User Conference, being
held in Washington D.C.

An April 6, 2006 Forrester report
entitled "The Convergence of Systems
and Security Management" recently
reported that "while [firms] need to
be able to evaluate the impact of
security breaches, they also must take
the appropriate actions in times of
crisis. Firms need tools to assess and
manage security solutions and
configurations, automate enforcement,
and respond rapidly to security
events."
ArcSight ESM’s ability to detect
and analyze potential security
threats, combined with ENIRA’s
immediate response solutions, provides
customers with a comprehensive
incident response strategy by enabling
both security and network operations
teams to respond to the challenges
posed by security threats and
day-to-day network operations. ENIRA’s
core product, Network Response, is an
appliance-based solution that speeds
the time to threat remediation by
automating the error-prone and time
consuming network discovery and
network change/configuration tasks
without altering an organization’s
existing infrastructure. Its
multi-vendor, multi-technology
interface means that it works in
today’s heterogeneous enterprise
networking environments. Through the
integration of ArcSight ESM and
ENIRA’s network mapping and response
capabilities, customers gain a ‘cross
over’ product that both security and
networking groups can use to detect
and remediate threats with minimal
time and effort.
