user conference will be held May
22-25, 2005 in Bethesda, Maryland. The
inaugural event will focus on
“Adaptive Security for the Regulated
World” and allow users in various
industries, including healthcare,
finance, government, defense and
manufacturing, to share their best
practices and implementation case
studies as they pertain to current and
pending security regulations.

year’s keynote speaker will be Ira
Winkler, CISSP, CISM, president of the
Internet Security Advisors Group and
author of Spies Among Us. His
presentation will examine the nature
of risk and how data correlation can
pull disparate information together to
identify security breaches and protect
mission-critical assets.
Winkler was named one of the most
influential professionals in the
information security field by
Information Security Magazine as well
as being inducted into the ISSA Hall
of Fame. He has been a consultant to
the CIA, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and
many Fortune 50 companies.
Previously, he was chief security
strategist at Hewlett-Packard and
before that, the director of
technology with the National Computer
Security Association. Winkler started
his career at the U.S. National
Security Agency, where he served as an
intelligence and computer systems
analyst.
The 2005 ArcSight ESM User
Conference will include targeted
sessions for all users – from novice

technical users, new and long-term
