CUPERTINO, Calif.-- March 2, 2006--ArcSight, Inc. today announced that it has the leading market share of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) software market according to historical market share data published by IDC, an IT market research and advisory firm. The SIEM market is expected to grow from $266.6 million in 2005 to $635.5 million in 2009, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 24.8% (Source: IDC, Worldwide Security and Vulnerability Management Software 2005-2009 Forecast and Analysis: Taking Control of the Security Environment, Doc #34604, December 2005).

The IDC report indicates that the SVM market will grow from $1.6 billion in 2005 to $3.1 billion in 2009, a CAGR of 17.8%.
