Technical Support Engineer(s) - Cupertino, CA

The Technical Support Engineer Front Line, provides outstanding Support to ArcSight customers on ArcSight Products (ESM, NSP and/or Logger). The Technical Support Engineering is the ongoing face of ArcSight to our customers and a critical component to overall customer satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides first and second level support to our Worldwide customers
  • Collaborative interaction between Support and Engineering to address product issues and feature requests

Required Experience:

  • Over 3 years, experience in Tech Support and/or relevant industry
  • Strong knowledge about Oracle database
  • Very good knowledge of OS (Windows, Unix and Linux)
  • Strong networking background
  • Full understanding on how to support Software and Hardware
  • Security experience a plus
  • Java experience a plus
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken
  • Support Account Management experience a plus

Desired Experience:

  • Ideal candidate should have 3-5 years experience in the job

Tier-3 Technical Support Engineer(s) - US, Cupertino

An ideal candidate will have Minimum of 4 years experience in an equivalent position.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a very senior level position that will require Java code level troubleshooting skills. ArcSight ESM Product runs on Oracle DB with multiple components. Candidates must be able to deal with enterprise customers on mission critical projects.
  • The Technical Support Engineer will provide email and phone technical support to Tier-1 and Tier-2 teams. This position interacts directly with the customer for critical incidents and requires a strong technical background.
  • The Technical Support Engineer will also work closely with Engineering and QA teams to facilitate product feedback in order to meet customer service level commitments, increase customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues.
  • It is a great opportunity for individuals with Database and Network Systems backgrounds to get up close and personal with customers and really understand how they use technology to solve business problems.

Qualifications required:

  • This position requires at least 4+ years of previous experience in a senior Tier-3 level technical support role or software sustaining engineering. This candidate should have strong knowledge of Java applications. Good knowledge of system administration, troubleshooting and debugging skills for Windows 2000 / 2003 Server, RedHat Linux, Solaris 9, AIX 5.2 or 5.3
  • Candidates must have in depth fundamental network troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiar with software release processes tools and management, source code control systems.
  • Good Working knowledge of Unix shell, SQL, vi, other necessary tools to do the everyday troubleshooting job.
  • Hands-on Oracle 9i database administration experience preferably on Linux, Solaris, and Windows platforms.
  • The ideal candidate will possess good communications and interpersonal skills. They must have the ability to be proactive with a positive attitude.

Education:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related experience required.

The Senior Technical Support Engineer provides outstanding support to ArcSight customers on all database related questions and support incidents. The Senior Technical Support Engineering is the ongoing face of ArcSight to our customers and a critical component to overall customer satisfaction.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides first and second level support to our Worldwide customers on database related support incident
  • Collaborative interaction between Support and Engineering to address product issues and feature requests

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in Oracle Database Administration
  • Very good knowledge of High Availability, Back and Recovery and Fault Tolerance
  • Very good knowledge of OS (Windows, Unix and Linux)
  • Full understanding on how to support Software and Hardware
  • Demonstrated ability and proven customer service skills required
  • Must have good communication skills both written and spoken
  • RAC experience a plus
  • Technical Support experience a plus
  • Possess the ability to be a self driven quick learner with attention to details and quality

Desired Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have 5 + years DBA production level implementation experience.
  • Possess excellent understanding of networking and security a plus
